Barcelona Dibuixa

Barcelona Dibuixa, the drawing party organized by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona, commemorates again (and it’s already 15 years) the birthday of Picasso. The aim of this festival is to promote drawing, not only as a technique of creation and expression, but also as a tool for learning, communication and intellectual process.

From the Lliure, we host this workshop by Oriol Bellvitge that brings the plastic arts and those of the scene to all audiences. In the most iconic scene of Hamlet, the prince holds a skull and wonders: "To be or not to be, that is the question". This activity starts from that existential dilemma and transforms it into a visual experience. Like Hamlet, we face symbolically the duality of existence: life and death, what is seen and what is hidden.

Oriol Bellvitge studied in the circus school Ateneu Popular de 9 Barris, obtained the Degree of Scenography at the Institut del Teatre and a Postgraduate Degree of Technology Applied to the Scene. He has worked on educational projects related to the performing world and, in addition, has collaborated with theatrical companies such as Júlia Barbany, Cris Blanco, els Escarlat or Col lectiu Las Huecas. In dance, he has also worked with LaSadcum.
