Description

The program of the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) and the Consorci d’Educació de Barcelona (CEB) is back, which encourages the practice of contemporary creation in public secondary schools. Teatre Lliure has continued to participate in it as a mediator.

During the 2025-26 academic year, the company José y sus Hermanas has worked with a group of ESO students in their third year at the Institut Escola Antaviana as part of the EN RESiDÈNCiA. ARTiSTES ALS iNSTiTUTS program. The creation process culminates with the premiere, at the Espai Lliure, of the resulting play.

The performance proposal takes as its starting point a real conflict: neighbourhood complaints about noise from schoolyards in some schools of Barcelona. Through sessions of collective work and reflection, students have explored the tensions between silence and noise, between the right to play and the need for recollection, and between word and its absence.
